- Know, proclaim and guard the one true Gospel
- Use the sacraments Biblically
- Govern the church with Biblical integrity under the headship of Christ
- Protect the heritage, and entrust it to the next generation of believers.
(Adopted from ERPC)
It was the summer of 2011 when the first congregation of the Sutlej Reformed Church formed in a village of Bahawalpur city with 35 people approximately. The church grew rapidly in 2014 and our mission outreach extended throughout the areas of Cholistan desert, south and central Punjab provinces of Pakistan.
The story of our church is not primarily about the buildings, congregations, and pastors, but about what God the Holy Spirit has been doing in and through the whole Sutlej Reformed Church of Pakistan.
PRESENT MINISTERIAL ACTIVITIES:
- Church Planting
- Social Development Projects
Sutlej church holds onto the Westminster Confession of Faith. It was written by 121 Calvinistic men from Great Britain between 1643 and 1648 at Westminster Abbey. Besides being an excellent summary of major Protestant doctrines, the confession along with the Shorter and Larger Catechisms, serve as a guide against false doctrines and as a manual of instruction. Our church is governed according to the constitution. It contains the church’s objectives, doctrines, and the form of government.
FORM OF GOVERNMENT:
The Sutlej Reformed Church of Pakistan operates under a “PRESBYTERIAN (Greek word, Presbuteros)” form of government because the Apostles established a representative form of government where the elected spiritual leaders, called elders or presbyters, make up the session of the local church to oversee affairs of the church (See, the Book of Acts).
