  • The Bible is the Word of God inspired by the Holy Spirit and without error (II Timothy 3:16). Everything it teaches is to be believed, everything it commands is to be obeyed, and everything it promises is to be trusted (Romans 3:4).
  • God is a Triune God, three persons in one being: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).
  • God is sovereign over all things in heaven and in earth. He created the world and all it contains in six, 24 hour days (Exodus 20:11) and continues to uphold and govern it according to His plan. No creature or event is outside His eternal plan. The ultimate purpose of His creation is the revelation and glory of Himself.
  • Our first parents, Adam and Eve, sinned in eating the forbidden fruit. By this sin they fell from their original righteousness and communion with God, and so became dead in sin, and wholly defiled in all the faculties and parts of soul and body. They being the root of all mankind, the guilt of their sin was imputed, and death and corrupted nature was passed on to all their natural descendants.
  • God is sovereign in salvation (Hebrews 12:2) Because God is perfectly holy and righteous, He punishes every sin. We, who are born spiritually dead and unable to do any good, are saved only by God’s grace (Ephesians 2:1-8) He has chosen a people from before the creation of the world to be saved by the work of His Son, Jesus Christ on the cross (Ephesians 1:4,5). He regenerates our sinful hearts through the work of the Holy Spirit (John 3:3-8) and gives us faith to believe that we are saved by Jesus Christ and not by our own good works (Ephesians 2:9) He also gives us grace to serve Him in our daily life.
  • God is a God of love and demonstrates it through the death of Christ on the cross (Romans 5:8) Jesus endured the eternal punishment His people deserved by dying on the cross. Jesus arose from the dead and now reigns in heaven (Romans 4:25)
  • The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God and is of one substance and equal with the Father. In the fullness of time He became man, and so was and continues to be God and man, in two entire distinct natures, and one person, forever. 
  • Jesus is coming again to judge the living and those who have died (II Timothy 4:5) Those who believed on Him will live forever with Him in heaven and those who have not believed on Him will suffer God’s just and eternal wrath in hell (Revelation 20:11-15).
  • All those whom God has predestined unto life, and those only, He is pleased in His appointed and accepted time effectually to call, by His Word and Spirit, out of that state of sin and death, in which they are by nature, to grace and salvation by Jesus Christ; enlightening their minds spiritually and savingly to understand the things of God; taking away their heart of stone, and giving unto them a heart of flesh; renewing their wills, and by His almighty power determining them to that which is good, and effectually drawing them to Jesus Christ: yet so, as they come most freely, being made willing by His grace.


We are created to glorify the living God, to enjoy him, and to find our life in him. We gather together on Lord's Day, set our hearts upon God, listen to His Word, fed at His table and praise Him through singing Psalms and Hymns in our native languages (Psalter: Sialkot Convention Geet Ki Kitab سیالکوٹ کنونشن گیت کی کتاب).

As well we are in very good standing fraternal and ecclesiastical relationships with Christian churches & denominations around the world.


As part of the Society of Biblical Christian Churches, the Sutlej Reformed Church of Pakistan is registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI 1860 with the Registrar, Joint Stock Companies Pakistan. 


The church council is the highest assembly of Sutlej Reformed Church of Pakistan. The congregations has been organized into "Sessions" and all the representatives from all the sessions collectively form the council.

SUT-LEJ: (Sut-looj ستلج)

Sutlej is name of the river that flows in the region of Bahawalpur. The meaning of Sutlej is 'Who excludes seven rivers from itself'. 
It is the longest of the five major rivers that flow through the region of Punjab in northern India and Pakistan. In Punjabi, the river's name is written ਸਤਲੁਜ. In Sanskrit, it is शतद्रु or सुतुद्री/Suṭudri. In Urdu, it is ستلج, and Hindi  सतलुज. In the Mahabharata, the river is named the Satadree. It is also known as the Red River.


The Logo of the Sutlej Reformed Church of Pakistan expresses through symbolism the basic convictions of the denomination. 

The BURNING BUSH (Exodus 3:2) on the left suggests indestructibility of God's word and the presence of Lord God in grace with His covenant people and so they are not consumed .

The OPENED BOOK represents the HOLY BIBLE - Affirmation of the Scripture of the Old and New Testament as the authoritative, God-breathed Word of God, without error in all that it affirms .

The CROSS forms the central emphasis of the seal, and represents the Person and the sacrificial redemptive work of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Living Word.

The CIRCLE is emblematic of eternity, and was used in medieval symbolism to represent God the Father. It also signifies the eternal benefit of the redemption secured on the cross by the death of Jesus Christ. 

A FAMILY symbol describes that we are a not only a building but we are family, one body in one Spirit. 

The WATER symbolizes life, and life is only found in Jesus Christ who said, "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water. (John 7:38)"

The SCROLL beneath bears the motto that what we all do it is, "For The Glory Of God(Psalms 72:19).


The colors are chosen for their meaning as well. 

BLUE traditionally expressive of fidelity.

GOLD suggests royalty and wealth - on the cross, it particularly suggests the royalty and the wealth of Jesus Christ.

RED is the color of sacrifice and the blood of Jesus Christ - precisely the costly sacrifice of Christ by which man's redemption is secured. 

WHITE suggests purity - the sinless purity of Him whom God "hath made to be sin for us who knew no sin" (2 Corinthians 5:21).


Since the beginning, Christians have conducted dignified and God-centered worship on the Lord’s Day. Over the centuries, certain elements were found to be indispensable to properly worship God. These elements were codified in what became known as “liturgy.” 

Liturgy helps us focus on Christ and His glory. It places an abundance of Scripture before the worshiper, taking his mind off man. By having a liturgy, the Christian becomes a participant in the worship of God, hearing and responding to Him, instead of being a mere observer. It gets our focus off this world and gives us hope for the next. It ties the Old and New Testament texts together, showing the promises in the Old, and their fulfillment in the New. 

Liturgy comforts believers by

▪ Declaring that God’s Law has been satisfied by Christ’s life, crucifixion and resurrection,

▪ Proclaiming that Christ’s righteousness has been credited to the believer; and

▪ Reminding the believer weekly of God’s gracious pardon of sins, and the sinner’s adoption as God’s child.

Liturgy does not offer this comfort to everyone, but only for the believer. The unbeliever discovers that he is not right with God and that the Law still condemns him. This is used by the Holy Spirit to bring the sinner to repentance.

Sutlej Reformed Church of Pakistan is rooted in Biblical faith, a faith that has been handed down to us from the Apostles of Scripture and rediscovered afresh during the Protestant Reformation of the 1500's. 

The word "REFORMED" comes from the historical time of the "Reformation", when people like Martin Luther and John Calvin sought to reform the church of their day to be more faithful to God's Word. During this period, there were five Latin phrases used to describe the movement that later gave birth to a reformed understanding of the Christian faith. These were:

Sola gratia: We are saved by GRACE alone. 

Our salvation is an unearned gift from God for Jesus' sake.

Sola fide: We are made right with God by FAITH alone. We are justified, or "made right" with God through faith, not by works.

Sola Scriptura: We find ultimate truth in SCRIPTURE alone. The Old & New Testaments of the Bible are the only inspired Word of God.

Solus Christus: Our hope is found in CHRIST alone. Jesus Christ is the only mediator, or "bridge", between God and mankind.   

Soli Deo gloria: Glory and praise for our salvation are given to GOD alone. We obey and serve God out of gratitude for all that He is and all He has done.

It was summer of the 2011 when the first congregation formed in a village of Bahawalpur city with 35 people approximately. The church grew rapidly in 2014 and our mission outreach extended throughout the areas of Cholistan desert, south and central Punjab provinces of Pakistan. 

By the grace of our Lord God, Nowadays we have congregations across the Pakistan and Rwanda. 


The Moderator is the chairman of the church council and responsible for calling and presiding over the regular meetings of the council.


Arslan Ul Haq is the founding Pastor and current moderator of the Sutlej Reformed Church of Pakistan. Born and raised in Bahawalpur City. 

His father was an associate minister in Methodist Church of Pakistan (United church), but his love to the Protestant Reformers, brought up him to embrace Reformed Theology. 

He holds degrees from the Northwestern Theological Seminary (Northwestern Christian University, New Port Richey, Florida USA) including the Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.and Master of Theology (Th.M.) in Biblical Studies.

Prior to Pastoral ministry, Arslan traveled extensively in full-time itinerant ministry which included speaking at churches, Seminars, Theological Workshops and conferences all over the Pakistan. Arslan is passionate about discipling people, developing leaders, teaching and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the local and global church. His unique and passionate style from the pulpit combines inspiration and challenge, laughter and tears as people are engaged at their core. His hope for Sutlej Reformed Church is to cultivate a community of disciples that is unleashed to live out the Gospel by Growing in a life of worship, Gathering in community and Giving their lives away on mission. He is an author and writer also.

Sutlej Reformed Church uses an annual report to update progress on the church's vision, show how donated funds are used and give insight into how each ministry area specifically uses the funds designated for its purpose. The desire of the staff and officers of the church is to use this tool to provide accountability to all those who support  Sutlej Reformed Church' ministries.
